Obituary

Aaron Williams, Jr. was born June 22, 1946, in Camilla, Georgia.   He was the beloved son of the late Aaron Williams, Sr. and Mittie C. Williams.

During the early years of his life, he received his formal education in the Mitchell County School System and was active in numerous school activities and functions.

Throughout his childhood, Aaron was nurtured in the word of God.  At an early age, he professed his faith and belief in Christ and united with the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Camilla, Georgia.  He was a dedicated member of the choir and served faithfully in various capacities in the church until his health declined.  Aaron was a devoted servant of the Lord whose faith never wavered.

He was united in holy matrimony to Gloria Williams who preceded him in death.  Their union stood the test of time and was blessed with one son, Aaron III.  In 2002, he met JoeAnn Haywood; and after an eight-year courtship, they became  as one.  With this union, they became the parents of a blended family of six children and seven grandchildren whom they loved dearly.  They shared a love for life and giving back to the community.  Aaron was a devoted husband and father who worked untiringly through the years  to provide unconditionally for his family.

"Junior and Papa," as he was called, was a very unique man who was full of life, compassionate, loving, and giving.  He was a very genuine person who loved the Lord, his family, and his fellowman.  Often described as a hardworking, determined individual, he was also a people's person who greatly impacted his community and touched the lives of many with his kind words and deeds.

On July 5, 2019, Aaron departed this earthly life at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 10 years, JoeAnn Haywood-Williams; his son, Aaron Williams, III; stepchildren, Jennifer Wynn, Delondra (Minister Johnny) Williams, and Calondra Haywood all of Albany, GA, MSgt.
