Aarom Nelson Marshall was born on November 7, 1937. He was the son of the late Memphis and Liza Posten Marshall. On April 7, 2018, he "fell asleep in death." John 11:11-13
As a young man, he attended Laster Elementary, Carver Jr. High and Monroe High Schools. He was awarded a scholarship to Savannah State College with a major in Mechanics. While there, he excelled in sports, including football, baseball, and track and field. He made "All Conference" in football and earned the name "Killer" because of his fierceness on the field.
In the midst of his matriculation at Savannah State, he was drafted into the United States Army . During his enlistment, he was a member of the US Army Track and Field Team. Aaron served his country with distinction and received an honorable discharge at the close of his three-year tour of duty.
Aaron was united in marriage to Alice Williams in June 1960. At the time of their union, he had one daughter, Ann Reba Marshall (Weathers). Ann, who was also known as "Rebo", preceded him in death. With Aaron and Alice's union, he became the father of Theresa Alice "Wimp" Williams Johnson (Lewis), Aaron Nelson "Muggs" Marshall, Jr., Adrian G."Charlie" Marshall, Alan Trey "Al-Ski" Marshall, and Auri Markell "Jo Schwagle" Marshall. He had 22 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.
In 1961, Aaron moved to New York and later, to Connecticut where he and Alice raised their family. For almost 40 years, he was employed as a machinist/toolmaker and shift foreman. He relocated back to Albany in 2003, working at the Turner Job Corp Center until his death. Aaron was a hard working man who always provided for his family. He was loved and deeply respected by all who knew him and he will be missed by man.
After learning about what the Bible really teaches, Aaron made the decision to dedicate his life to our loving Heavenly Father, Jehovah. Psalms 83:18. His life reflected his beliefs.
Surviving siblings include: Floyd (Roberta) Marshall of Randallstown, MD, and Simon Peter Marshall, Mary Lee, Betty Jean Frazier, Memphis Marshall, Jr., and Catherine Rowe all of Albany, GA. He was predeceased by two siblings, Henry Marshall and Rosalee Fuller. He is also survived by an uncle, Orlando Marshall; nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
