A dolph Chaptman, beloved son of the late Andrew Chapman and Thelma Hall Chapman, was born in Albany, Georgia on March 31, 1947.
He was educated in the Dougherty County School System, including Monroe High School. Adolph was an exceptionally talented young man who developed a passion for cooking and food service during his early school years.
In early adulthood, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with the Antioch Baptist Church. He dearly loved the Lord and was steadfast in his Christian stewardship. In 1983, the coveted title "Mr. Antioch" was bestowed upon him. Adolph was a shining example of humility and his love for the church was manifested through his deeds and actions.
Adolph was a very conscientious, persistent individual whose great love for food led him to his true calling and life-long career. Although largely self-taught, he quickly grasped culinary concepts that allowed him to create bold and memorable flavors while employed at numerous restaurants in Albany. Over the years, he cooked with instinct; made wonderful food; and was always searching for the next greatest flavors. He was a true "master" of his trade!
A genuinely good-hearted, humble man, Adolph garnered much from his life experiences. His love for family and friends was infinite and he cherished each moment spent with them. Often described as a straightforward, genuine, and unchanging individual, Adolph will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
On February 28, 2022, Adolph was freed from the cares of this erthly life and he entered into eternal rest. .
Cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of his siblings, Mary Quarterman and J. D. Chapman of Albany, GA, Doretha Quarterman of Indianapolis, Inc, Mae Black, Roosevelt Chapman, and Odessa Osborne all of Grand Rapids, MI, Sammie Chapman of Murfreesboro, TN, and Carolyn Hightower of Lithonia, GA; godchildren, Mesha Childs, Porscha Childs, Alfredia Lowe Mack eroy, and Derial Lowe all of Albany, GA, a myriad of nieces, nephews, and god-granddaughters; a special friend, Bernard Cody; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
