Adonis Marlow Lewis was born May 21, 1968 in Topeka, Kansas. He was the son of the late Luretha Lewis Harris and the late Robert Henderson.
Marlow, as he was affectionately known, was educated in the Dougherty County School System and was a proud graduate of THE MONROE HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1987. He was an active member of MHS varsity basketball team where he was not only an outstanding player, but a person who dominated the game. Marlow was a true legend at the "Roe" that earned him the name as Dunk Master". After graduation, basketball led Marlow to continue his education at North Florida College in Madison, Florida, where he was also a standout basketball player. His love for basketball was even more apparent as he was an integral force on the WJIZ Soul Pushers and the Miller Blazers intramural basketball teams that allowed so many far and near to witness his talent and abilities and his love for the game.
At an early age, Marlow's grandfather, Adonis Marshall Lewis taught him about Jesus Christ. He confessed his love for Christ and was baptized at Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church. His continued love for Christ and the Church led to many years of tireless and faithful service. In later years, he served under the tutelage of Pastor Kenneth Z. Fairbanks of New Vision Ministries, serving in multiple capacities, to include deacon and ultimately ordained as a Minister. He continued to serve the Lord and openly profess his faith until the conclusion of his life.
Adonis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. On July 25, 2020, he married his soul mate and best friend, Toreka Kim Hicks, with whom he remained devoted until his untimely death.
Over the years Adonis sustained a lengthy and fruitful career with the City of Albany where he advanced to the role of Supervisor, and remained for a number of years. Following his tenure with the City of Albany, Adonis enjoyed continued his career as a Commercial Truck Driver in the cities of Albany and Macon.
On Saturday, August 14, 2021, @ 3:21p Adonis answered his final call and quietly transitioned to his Heavenly Father.
Adonis's loving memories will forever be cherished by his devoted and loving wife, Toreka "Kim" Hicks-Lewis; Two sons, Peacory and Dallas; One daughter, Brandi; A dedicated sister, Lois T. Hollis of Jacksonville, Fl. Aunts Marie (Oneal) Bowens of Albany, GA and Uncle, Winford Lewis of Donaldsonville, GA, and Mother and Fathers- in law, Mack (Jacquelyn) Tumblin and Aaron (Joyce) Hicks of Albany GA; Sisters-in-law, Subricca Hicks of Albany GA, Sharhonda (Rod) Ross of Albany GA, Joy (Fred) Williams of Albany GA, Robbin (James) Lawson, Ronda Tumblin and Tia Keaton of Atlanta GA. A brother-in-law, Michael Tumblin of Atlanta, GA. Eight grandchildren, Messiah, Bethany, Mari, Kingston, Mehik, Amina, Aalihyah, and D'Oni ; a niece Tequila Hollis of Jacksonville, Fl; nephews JaMichael Lewis of Jacksonville Fl and Christopher Billingsley of Warner Robins, GA and a host of cousins and friends.
