Obituary

Afford Bracy, Jr., son of the late Alfred Tedd Bracy and Annie Mae Cobb Stepherson Bracy, was born in Jacksonville, Florida on May 1, 1945.

After moving to Albany, Georgia with his family, he attended the public schools of Dougherty County where he participated in various activities, and events.

At  an early age, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and remained prayerful throughout life's journey.

Afford was an extremely conscientious individual who gave his best at whatever he did.  He firmly believed in working hard for what you want and always being willing to do the right thing.  Through the years, he taught his children the value of hard work as he labored untiringly with Black Top Roofing Company and Anderson Roofing Company.  He was a loyal and reliable employee and prided himself in a job well done.

Family and friends meant the world to Afford and he delighted in spending quality time with them—especially his grandchildren who held the key to his heart.  He was a kind, generous man who greeted each day with a smile and was always "on call" to help anyone in need.  He had a big heart for all things in life.  Thad was the best father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend that anyone could ever have.  In his leisure, he enjoyed sitting on his front porch; listening to the music of B. B. King, Muddy Waters, and Nelly; and yes, trying to dance.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him dearly.

On December 10, 2020, Afford finished his course and was called to eternal rest.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his special friend and companion, Ada Mae Clay; his grandmother, Goldie Bracy; siblings, Bertha Mae (Bay) White, Annie Stepherson, Robert Cobb, and Jeffro Cobb; niece, Trescah Frazier; and two nephews, Joey Daniels and Donnell White.

Loving memories will forever be cherished by his devoted daughter, Elnora (Cedric) Daniels; grandchildren, Quantravis Dent and Altameze Daniels; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
