Obituary

Agnew Jones was born in Albany, Georgia on August 28, 1955. He was the son of Beatrice Jones and the late Roosevelt Hooks. He received his early childhood and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System. While in high school, Agnew quickly grasped valuable construction skills and concepts that followed him into adulthood.

Growing up in a strong Christian home, Agnew was nurtured in the Word of God and taught the importance of living a life of strong character and loving kindness. At an early age, he professed his faith in Christ Jesus and dedicated his life to His purpose. He was a,steadfast, prayerful servant who faithfully engaged in Christian stewardship at Second Bethesda Baptist Church. As an Usher, Agnew proudly stood at his post greeting and ushering the congregation in to the worship service for many years.

Agnew was united in marriage to the love of his life, Nadine Gilyard. His love for his wife was unmatched—she was the sparkle in his eyes,
the beat of his heart and the air that he breathed. Together they created a home filled with love and strong family values. Agnew was a
husband and father who showered his family with unconditional love.

A highly skilled and talented individual, Agnew's professional career in the construction trades proved to be one of his greatest accomplishments. He took great pride in his profession; and no matter what challenges faced him, he was always positive, friendly, hard working, and pursued opportunities with vigor and determination. Agnew was involved in many building projects in Florida, Michigan, and the
Southwest Georgia area. Whether laying bricks, hanging sheetrock, or applying stucco, he worked untiringly to ensure that his work was flawless; thus, enabling him to become one of the best contractors of all times as evidenced in his work at Albany's downtown Turtle Park.
Beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Agnew peacefully transitioned from this earthly life on August 20, 2024, surrounded
by family.

His memory will be forever cherished by his wife, Nadine Jones; his mother, Beatrice Jones; children, Whitney (Tracy) Bradley, Emanuel
(Jada) Jones, and Kentavious Jordan; brothers, Nathaniel (Yvonne) Jones and Lucious Jones; bonus mother, Bernice Johnson; uncles, Ernest Jones, Harrison Jones, and James Jones; seven grandchildren, Emanuel, Joidan, Tradan, Trinidee, Tyler, Ambrerielle, and Jatavais; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
