IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alice Jane
Cochran Jackson
February 20, 1942 – January 25, 2021
Alice Jane Jackson, beloved daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Solomon Cochran, was born in Albany, Georgia on February 20, 1942.
She was educated in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Monroe High School. Throughout her school years, she was actively involved in numerous student organizations, activities, and events.
From a very young age, Alice was nurtured in the Word of God. As a youth, she accepted Christ as her Savior and began her journey of Christian stewardship and devotion at St. Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Clarence Solomon. Over the years, she was prayerful in her daily walk and remained steadfast in her service—always giving God the glory and praise.
Alice held fast to her belief that work is honorable. Throughout the years, she taught her children the value of hard work as she labored tirelessly in the Housekeeping Department at Palmyra Park Hospital for 38 years. She was an extremely conscientious individual who was passionate about her work. Her dedication, and commitment as a housekeeper led to her advancement of Supervisor. No matter what the task, she always stayed the course to ensure that nothing was ever left undone.
Loving mother, caring sister, nurturing aunt, compassionate niece, reliable cousin, and loyal friend, Alice was a good natured, generous lady with a big heart and a pleasure to be around. She believed deeply in unconditional love, enjoyed cooking and baking, relished in spending time with family and friends, and delighted in helping others—never asking anything in return. The strong bonds of friendship that she developed through the years will forever be cherished and remembered.
On Monday, January 25, 2021, Alice transitioned from this earthly life to eternal rest and peace with the Lord. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents; and three siblings, Helen Goings, Lucille Cochran, and Pearly Cochran.
Precious memories will forever continue in the hearts of children, James (Tess) Cochran, Morris B. Cochran, and Stephanie Jackson all of Albany, GA, and Jacqueline Ramkison of Freeport, NY; siblings, Nathaniel (Tess) Cochran of Washington, DC, Charlie Cochran of Atlanta, GA, Melvin (Judy) Cochran, Gregory (Stella) Cochran, and LaWanda Cochran of Albany, GA, and Deborah Cochran of Omaha, NE.; her favorite uncle, Johnny Harvey of Miami, FL; grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
