IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alice Faye
Idlett Bryant
April 22, 1931 – June 16, 2024
April 22, 1931, God gifted this Earth with Alice Faye Idlett Bryant. Affectionately known as "Moma Alice," she was the second born of Frank and Zora Idlett of Edison, Georgia. She and her eight siblings were raised on values of love, discipline and Christian faith. During her early life, Alice developed a remarkable work ethic through her childhood responsibilities of farm-life, gardening, picking cotton and caring for her large family. She blossomed into a multi-talented person of notable characteristics: lovable, kind-hearted, compassionate, peaceful, and forgiving.
Alice was educated in the Calhoun County School System in Georgia. Alice worked hard to achieve good grades and successfully completed high school even during an era of The Great Depression and segregation. Married to the late Willie "Booster" Bryant, their union produced six children, who today honor their parent's legacy: Carolyn Williams (Warrie); Marie Saldivar; Deborah Woodall (David); Saundra Bryant; Darin Bryant, and Vicki Barbary (Ricardo). Mrs. Alice purposed to instill strong work ethics, common sense and kindness in her children with a focus on how to live, love and laugh. With interests in merchandising, fashion and jewelry, Alice became an excellent sales clerk for many years at Star Brokers Pawn business in downtown Albany, Georgia. Her resilience, warm personality and professional demeanor were endearing, which earned her respect and fostered countless acquaintances with members of the community. People would often come into the business just to say hello to Alice.
Alice's faith in Jesus Christ was a true foundation of her life. She accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at an early age at Freewill Baptist Church in Edison, Georgia.
Alice was committed to family and created a loving home, often extending her compassion to others in need of a hot meal or a place to stay. She was a great cook who loved to travel and dance. A quiet soul who spoke volumes, Alice was a treasure to her children and grandchildren.
On June 16, 2024, Mrs. Alice Bryant peacefully transitioned to her eternal rest. The good news is - in our Father's house there are many mansions and He has gone away to prepare a place for us.
Alice's family is encouraged by her well-lived life and will celebrate her legacy always. Our beloved Matriarch is survived by her brother, Frank Idlett, Junior, and her sister, Louella Kitchens; her six children along with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Moma Alice bore a sweet name and added luster to the same. She shared our joy, she cheered when sad. The greatest friend we ever had. She was blessed with long life and there is no other who can take the place of our dear sweet mother.
