The season of life for Alissa Rivers began Bronx, New York on December 7, 1977. She was the beloved daughter of Marjorie Rivers and Douglas Johnson.
As she sprouted and grew, her family relocated to Albany, Georgia where she attended the public schools of Dougherty County and was active in numerous school organizations and activities. including Monroe High School and Westover High School.
Alissa firmly believed in working hard for what you want and always being willing to do the right thing. Those who encountered her often described her as a caring, hardworking mother who provided unconditionally for her children. For numerous years, she was a dedicated employee at Cagle—Equity Group of Camilla, Georgia before becoming disabled.
Devoted daughter, loving mother, caring sister, reliable aunt, and compassionate friend, Alissa was a delightful individual with a big heart, a quiet spirit, and a joy to be around. Like a bright star, she had a gigantic smile that could light up a room and bring joy to everyone around her. Even when times were tough, she had a quiet strength, never complained, and always looked to a better future.
The season of Alissa's life ended on August 14, 2019, and she transitioned to eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Davis Smallwood.
Fond memories will forever be cherished by her loving children, Schmera Fudge and Benjamin Fudge of Albany, GA, and Arianna Rivers of Jacksonville, FL; her devoted mother, Marjorie Rivers of Albany, GA; siblings, Cassandra Smallwood of Albany, GA, and Selena Rivers-Houston and Douglas Rivers both of Jacksonville, FL; eight nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
