IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Altometer "Neat"
Williams
July 12, 1960 – August 12, 2024
Altometer Williams was born in Albany, Georgia on July 12, 1860. She was the beloved daughter of the late Johnnie D. Gilyard and Willie Bell Strawder Gilyard.
She was educated in the Dougherty County School System, including Monroe Comprehensive High School. Altometer was an inquisitive and very zealous student who excelled academically and was actively involved in numerous student-centered activities and events.
Very early in life, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a faithful member of Riverside Baptist Church. She dearly loved the Lord and remained humble and prayerful throughout life's journey.
Altometer was united in marriage to the love of her life, Carlzell Williams. Together, they embarked on a life filled with love and true devotion to each other. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker who looked well to the ways of her household and ate not the bread of idleness. "Neat," as she was endearingly called, was full of energy, stayed on the move, and was well organized—everything had its place! Anyone visiting her home could readily see that she was an immaculate housekeeper who firmly believed that cleanliness was next to godliness.
An outspoken yet kind and generous lady, Altometer had a servant's heart and always stood ready to help others or lend a listening ear. Many people considered her a trusted counsel and a difference maker whose doors were always open. She was the kind of person that anyone would be proud to call wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, or friend.
On August 12, 2024, Altometer quietly transitioned from this earthly life to eternal peace and rest. She was a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew and loved her.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by her beloved husband, Carlzell Williams; her children, Sawanda Gilyard, Carlzell L. Williams, Jr., Vanessa Williams, Kaghi Williams, Jarvis Williams, Dontavious Williams, Martavious Williams, and Reginald Williams all of Albany, GA, and Darrell Williams of Tampa, FL; seven siblings, Eddie (Nita) Gilliard, Inetha (Willie) Fletcher, Dolly Nix, Eugene (Angela) Gilliard, Belinda (Warren) Williams, and Carolyn (Melvin) Jones all of Albany, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Morella Mitchell, Ella Dawson, Katie Givens, Lillie Brookins, Pricella Williams, Felicia (Johnnie) Greene, Johnny Williams, and Gene Williams; 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
