Anesia Rose
Oliver-Banister
March 4, 1979 – July 30, 2025
The season of life for Anesia Rose Oliver-Banister began in Albany, Georgia on March 4, 1979. She was the beloved daughter of Anniece Oliver-Smith and the late Johnny Oliver, Sr.
She received her formal education in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Westover High School in 1998. She continued her education at Florida A & M University where she was a member of FAMU's Marching 100.
Very early in life, Anesia accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She dearly loved the Lord and remained humble and prayerful throughout life's journey.
Anesia's very diverse professional career included employment as an administrative assistant and volunteer coordinator at Albany RYDC, administrative assistant at Turner Job Corps, and claims specialist for Progressive Auto Insurance Company. In each work setting, she was a stellar employee with unmatched work ethics, high expectations, unquestionable integrity, and perseverance.
Beyond her professional life, Anesia was passionate about improving her community and making a difference in the lives of others. She was instrumental in the development and implementation of several community programs, including Royal Definity—a nonprofit mentoring program which helped countless individuals succeed.
Anesia was a true visionary, always striving to create a more vibrant and inclusive community. She was an inspiration to many and leaves behind a legacy of compassion, creativity, and unwavering dedication.
After meeting and becoming captivated by Thesso Banister, a courtship ensued which resulted in Anesia and Thesso being joined in marriage. She was a loving wife and a devoted mother who ate not the bread of idleness and often sacrificed her needs for the good of her family. Daily, she offered much time and attention to their lives.
Whether needing advice, a listening ear, or casual conversation, she was always available to hear them out and offer a steady hand. Known for her kind, gentle spirit and unconditional love, family was paramount in Anesia's life.
Not only was Anesia devoted to her family, she was also a loyal friend who delighted in others—never asking anything in return. She had a deep, abiding love for children and was a beacon of inspiration for them. Having the privilege of being loved by her was to be loved for a lifetime.
On July 30, 2025, Anesia transitioned from this earthly life to be with the Lord. In addition to her father and stepmother Toni Oliver, she was predeceased by her brother, Alexander Morrell Oliver.
