IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Angela P.
Cladd
November 16, 1970 – April 16, 2024
Angela Patrice Cladd was born in Shellman, Randolph County, Georgia on November 16, 1970. She was the beloved daughter of Joseph Cladd and Cleavie Mae Cladd Wooden.
She received her early childhood and secondary education in the Randolph County School System, graduating from Randolph County High School. A life-long learner, she continued her education at Albany Technical College
Angela's Christian experience began at an early age when she accepted Christ as her personal Savior, was baptized, and united with Enterprise Baptist Church of Shellman, Georgia. In later years, she joined the Green Grove Baptist Church in Dawson, Georgia. As she continued in her season of Christian stewardship, she united with Greater Second Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the leadership and guidance of Reverend Lorenzo L. Heard. Beyond church, Angela utilized her melodious soprano voice to minister in song with the "Tri-County Worship Choir" for many years.
A very conscientious and independent individual, Angela was no stranger to hard work. For numerous years, she was a dedicated employee at Cooper Lighting in Americus, Georgia. She later transitioned to a career in law enforcement as a correctional officer with the Lee County State Prison. While there, she realized that being an officer was more than a profession as she advanced to the rank of sergeant—it was a call for service to others, protection of communities, and making a difference. Angela was a stellar officer who was totally committed to her work. During off-duty time, she also worked as a security officer with Allied Universal Security.
Angela's devotion to her career was only surpassed by her deep commitment to her family. She was an altruistic mother and grandmother, a caring sister and aunt, and an unforgettable cousin and friend who loved unconditionally. Sharing time with family and friends was paramount in her life. She had a servant's heart and delighted in helping others—never asking anything in return.
On April 16, 2024, Almighty God called his servant home to eternal rest and peace. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elijah Knighton, Charlie Cleve Russia Knighton, Walter Cladd, and Margie Collins Cladd; and her grandson, J'Marion White.
Precious memories will forever be cherished by her son, Jermaine White (Tiana Walton); her parents, Joseph Cladd and Cleavie Mae Wooden; devoted friend, Desmond Pope (stepfather to her son); grandchildren, Ke'Mia White, Zyeir White, and Isaiah Walton; siblings, Joyicene (Andrew) Thomas, Zoe Cladd, Vanessa Smith, Joseph (Tiffony) Cladd, and Rickey (Sherry) Mathis; a cousin/sister, Darlene Jordan; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins; a good friend, Moses White; and special friends/sisters, Patsy Jones, Betty Ray, Michelle White, Barbara Brown, and Teresa Brown.
