Ann Mariel Malone was born in Calhoun County, Georgia on July 11, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Girlie Mae and John Henry Mariel.
She attended the public schools of Calhoun County, graduating from Booker T. Washington High School. Very early in life, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior.
She was united in holy matrimony to Isom Malone who preceded her in death. As a wife and mother, she was extremely conscientious and took great care in providing for her family. She worked tirelessly at Flint River Textile where she retired after rendering many years of loyal service.
Ann lived a life of kindness and compassion tempered with a vibrant and fun-filled spirit. The joys of her life were her family and friends whom she loved dearly. She was a friend you could depend on—always ready to help in any way that she could. Ann enjoyed an array of activities, including cooking, sewing, going to the flea market and traveling.
On Wednesday, August 22, 2018, she answered the Master's call to come home. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two siblings, Beulah Mae McCoy and Dan Mariel.
Fond memories will forever be cherished by her sons, Stanley R. (Essie) Thomas and Napoleon (Happy) Thomas of Albany, GA, and Melvin Thomas of Port Orchard, WA; two siblings, Mae Bell (Jordan) Adams of Columbia, MS and John Henry Mariel of Albany, GA; seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
