IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Annie Lee
Barnes
November 28, 1936 – April 28, 2022
Annie Lee Barnes, daughter of Annie Laura Hall and Andrew Brantley, was born in Terrell County, Georgia on November 28, 1936. She was adopted as a baby and raised by her aunt, Susie Mae Mullins.
She received her formal education in the Terrell County School System. Throughout school, Annie was a thoughtful and considerate young lady with a fervent desire to help others.
"Ann Lee" as she was endearingly called, began her walk with the Lord early in life. She was baptized and received the "right hand of fellowship" into the body of Christ at the Sanders Gift Baptist Church where she served faithfully through the years in numerous capacities. Her faith in God kept her spiritually strong and she never ceased praise Him for the many blessings in her life.
She was united in holy matrimony to R. L. Barnes who preceded her in death.
Ann Lee was a devoted wife, meticulous homemaker, and a dedicated employee at Palmyra Park Hospital where she worked untiringly until her retirement. She had a quiet strength, never complained no matter what task was placed before her, and she always looked for the best in every situation. In her leisure, she enjoyed working in her yard, decorating, and solving word search puzzles.
Blessed beyond measure, Ann Lee lived a rich and rewarding life; reached the hallowed age of 85; and left a legacy of love, humility, generosity, and godliness that will forever be cherished by family and friends.
On April 28, 2022, Ann Lee peacefully transitioned from this earthly life at Wynfield Park Health and Rehabilitation Center of Albany. Although her departure leaves a void, we rejoice in knowing that she is at peace with the Lord. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by adopted mother, Susie Mae Mullins; four siblings, Annie Bell Sims, Eula Mae Simmons, Robert Mullins, and Benjamin Mullins.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by her devoted cousins and caregivers, Fannie Mullins and Mary Lee of Albany, GA; godchildren, Felicia Blackmon Meridy and Johnny Graddy of Albany, GA; two special cousins, Jimmy Mullins and Johnny Bush of Albany, GA; sister-in-law, Macy Owens of Albany, GA; extended family, Susie Mae Tell of Sasser, GA, Jimmie Sue Johnson of Huntsville, AL, and Teresa Warren, Annie Mae Ousley, James Brantley, and Curtis Brantley all of New Jersey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
