Obituary

Annie Lou Carter, beloved daughter of  the late Zimmer Green Howard, was born in Leslie, Georgia on May 24, 1931.

During the early years of her life, she received her formal education in the Sumter County School System.

Annie Lou was a faithful member of Mount Olive Baptist Church where she willingly served in numerous capacities until her health declined.

She was united in holy matrimony to Ernest Carter, Jr.  Their union endured through the years and was blessed with loving children.  A nurturer at heart, Annie always put her family first and was selfless with her love. Her diligence in caring for her husband and children was unwavering.  For more than 31 years, she was employed at Flint River Industrial and Diaper Services (Unifirst), working tirelessly to ensure that no task was left undone.

Annie Lou was gracious, genuinely kind, and full of integrity.  She cared deeply for her church family, cherished the lifelong friends that she made over the years, and was unconditionally devoted to her family.  Annie was a loving wife, a compassionate mother, an involved grandmother and great grandmother, an encouraging aunt, and a loyal friend.  Her sense of humor and laughter were contagious and she was always available with a hug or a listening ear.  She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of being a part of her life.

On Tuesday, August 13, 2019, Annie Lou peacefully transitioned to eternal rest.  In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ernest Carter, Jr., grandson, Nathaniel Mosley, Jr., and eleven siblings..

Fond memories will forever be cherished by her daughters, Cora (Charles) Cleveland, Mary Henry, Diane Lowe, and Vadale White all of Albany, GA; one sister, Daisy (Joseph) Crumbley of Miami, FL; grandchildren, Cynthia (David) Jones, Casey Lowe, Frederick (Sharhonda) Lowe, Reginald Mosley, Angela Mosley, Tiffany (Korey) Metts, Santana White, and Donella White all of Albany, GA; 14 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.
