Obituary

Antonia "Tony" Bernard Chevers was born October 8, 1973, to Calvin and Emma Jean Chevers in Ashburn, Georgia.

At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Savior, was baptized, and united with the Third Kiokee Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Levi Breedlove. He was an active member of the church serving in many capacities, including the Jr. Usher Board and past president of the Jr. Pastor's Aid Auxiliary. He was also a member of Boy Scout Troop #99.

Tony was educated in the Dougherty County School System where he was known as "Grill Master" for Monroe High School Class of 1993. He later received his high school diploma from Cornerstone Christian Correspondence School.

An extremely conscientious, hardworking individual, Antonio was employed at Firestone Tire & Rubber in Nashville, Tennessee. He was also a skilled auto mechanic and provided automotive repair services for numerous other employers.

Tony was a fun-loving individual who experienced life with open arms. Oftentimes, he could be found cruising in his 1968 green and gold Ford Mustang listening to his favorite song, "Coming Out Hard" by 8 Ball & MJG. He had a mind that never ceased questioning, a serious twinkle in his eyes, and truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His sense of humor and one-of-a-kind personality captured the attention of everyone around him and kept them on their toes. In his free time, he enjoyed grilling, fishing, and racing at the US 19 Dragway.

On Wednesday, October 6, 2021, Antonio departed this earthly life in Nashville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary Liza Young, Charlie Williams, and Ulyess Chevers.
