Antonio J. Works was born on September 17, 1972, in Albany, Georgia.   He was the beloved son of the late Robert Works and Odessa Works.

During the early years of his life, he received his formal education in the public schools of Dougherty County, including Dougherty Comprehensive High School where he graduated in 1990  While at Dougherty, he was active in numerous school organizations, activities and sporting events.

Antonio was a very persistent individual whose professional work life was diverse and rewarding.  For numerous years, he worked tirelessly as an employee of Bob's Candies until its closing.  With the plant's closing, his interest in  the transportation industry was sparked.  He became an over-the-road transportation specialist for Swift Transportation and later, Shipper Services Express.  He believed strongly in working hard for what you want, being willing to do the right thing, and making sure that no task was left undone.

Loving son, dutiful father, caring brother, committed uncle, and loyal friend, "Tony," as he was called by family and close friends, embraced opportunities and the chance to experience life with open arms.  He was an outgoing individual who was very witty and the life-of-the-crowd; a sports fan who enjoyed attending games and watching them on television; and a n outspoken but kind man who delighted in spending time with family and friends.  Through all of life's challenges, Tony always remained upbeat and joyful.

On July 29, 2019, Tony departed this earthly life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a longtime, special companion, Rhonda K. Anderson,

He is survived by his children, Shelita and Leander; six siblings, Lorenzo Works, Leonard Works, Timothy (Nykeeta) Works, Robert Works, Jr., Jacqueline (Anthony) Holt, and Ieshia Wilson; a loving stepmother, Carmen Works; four grandchildren; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family, and friends.
