IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Audwin Cantrell
Williams
September 29, 1974 – April 11, 2022
Audwin Cantrell Williams, affectionately known as "Kent", was born in Albany, Georgia, on September 29, 1974, to Mr. and Mrs. Celious and Dorohy Williams. He was a beloved father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He never hesitated to be a helping hand to those in need, and always brought joy to any situation. This was most evident on Monday, April 11, 2022 when Audwin slipped his hand into the Master's hand and transitioned to his eternal home with family standing close by his side.
Audwin confessed to Christ at an early age and joined St. Kline Missionary Baptist Church, under Pastor Freddie Starling, where he was groomed to be respectful, loyal, and hard-working, but most of all, a servant leader. He honed his gift of helping others and was always selfless in doing so. His devotion to family and friends and countless acts of kindness made it easy for those around him to love him unconditionally.
At an early age, Audwin participated in Boy Scouts, Little League football, and basketball. His passion for sports and community involvement shaped him into a student-athlete and student-leader. Audwin graduated from Dougherty High School in 1994. There, he excelled as an all-around athlete. Although he played football, he excelled on the basketball court. Under the leadership of his uncle, Audwin led the Mighty Trojans to several winning seasons. While on the team, Audwin won several awards such as Defensive Player of the Year, Region 1-AAA All Region team, Coach's Award, and Top 50 Seniors in Georgia.
While in high school, Audwin was tasked with grooming his coach and teammates. In discovering his gifted hands, he found his ministry in reaching the youth of the community with each haircut that he gave. He would use those barber shop opportunities to school the younger generations about the pitfalls of life and how to overcome them. He found comfort in knowing that with each haircut, he was impacting a life. Not only was he a licensed cosmetologist, but he also worked as an electrician, just like his dad. Before passing he was employed by Albany Metro Electric. He was an esteemed entrepreneur where he became known and loved as a hometown barber with " Kutz By Kent".
Audwin was a devoted classmate, family man, and friend. He always had time to listen and never hesitated to give of his time, talents, and treasures. Audwin was a true confidant to many, and his love and kindness will live on through those that miss him the most.
Audwin is preceded in death by his Maternal Grandmother Elvie "L.B." Wesly, grandfather, Eddie Miller, paternal grandmother Rosa "Dear" McCray, grand-father James "J.W" Williams, Aunt Deloris "Alice" Ekwegbalu, and Uncle/Daddy Charlie " Bub" Givens (Rosie).
