IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara Ruth
Jackson
April 13, 1961 – May 25, 2017
During the early years of her life, the family moved to Cuthbert, Georgia where she attended the public schools of Randolph County, including Randolph County Comprehensive High School. While still in high school, she relocated to Fort Ord, California and later to Tacoma Washington and graduated from Clover Park High School. She continued her education at the Clover Park Vocational Technical College in Banking and Finance, and graduated as a certified Bank Teller. Barbara's quest for knowledge was extensive and included additional studies in Foster Care, Parenting and Adoptive Parenting; Culinary Arts and Food Service Management at Albany Area Vocational Technical College, graduating with high honors; Computer Clerical Technology at Riley's Training Technical College; and Shaners School of Cosmetology where she earned certification as a Master Cosmetologist.
At a very young age, she heeded the call of Christ and began her journey with the Lord at the Vilulah Missionary Baptist Church. There, she organized the first youth choir, The Vilulah Gospeletts, and served as president and director. In later years, her church memberships included New Hope Baptist Church in Fort Ord, CA; Greater Second Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Albany, GA under the leadership of the late Pastor C. W. Heath; House of God Saints In Christ under the guidance of the late Bishop J. L. Litman; and Faith Deliverance Holiness Church under the leadership of Pastors Earnest and Alice Braddy where she faithfully continued her Christian walk.
Barbara was a devoted mother whom the Lord blessed with two sons. She was diligent in caring for the needs of her family and ate not the bread of idleness. Throughout her career as a Master Cosmetologist, she was a persistent, hardworking individual who was very passionate about her work. Her generous spirit and pleasant personality significantly impacted her clients and everyone who knew her.
On Thursday, May 25, 2017, Barbara was called from her labors to reward.
She leaves to mourn her passing and celebrate her life two sons, Barsarkie F. Greene and Barsender F.
