Obituary

Beauty Mae Clark Brown was born in Leary, Georgia on September 28, 1930.  She was the daughter of the late Jesse and Lillie Mae Clark.

From a very early age, Beauty was nurtured in the Word of God. As a youth, she accepted Christ as her Savior and united with the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Leary, Georgia.  Over the years, she devoted herself to unyielding commitment and service to her calling as a Deaconess and Hospitality Greeter.  "Ms. Beauty and Mother Brown" as she was so fondly called, was a praying woman who stayed on the battlefield even in the midst of declining health—always giving God the glory.

Devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and meticulous homemaker, Ms. Beauty's love for her family was matchless.  She believed strongly in family ties and responsibilities, and always sacrificed her needs for the good of her family. Blessed beyond measure, Ms. Beauty lived a rich rewarding life and found great joy in spending quality time with her family as she journeyed through life and reached the hallowed age of 90 years old.

Mother Brown was often described as a warm, nurturing individual who was always willing to go the extra mile for anyone in need.  She had a servant's heart and felt most comfortable when helping others.  An exceptionally talented cook, she spent many hours in the kitchen stirring up mouth-watering, downhome soul food.  Her doors were always open and her table was always spread for family and friends.  She will long be remembered for her perseverance, strength, and unconditional love.

On  October 15, 2020, Mother Brown was called home to eternal peace and rest.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Johnnie B. Brown; her son, Bobby Miller; and eight siblings.

She leaves a lifetime of love and memories that will be cherished by her children, Lillie Crawford, John (Janet) Jackson, Helen Diane Florence, Kennedy W. (Melissa) Miller, Elizabeth McBride, Jessie (Linda) White, and Arthur (Sonia) Threatt; twenty-one grandchildren and a myriad of great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Annie Clark; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
