Benjamin Eafford,
Jr.
September 20, 1954 – August 11, 2020
Benjamin Eafford, Jr., beloved son of the late Bernice Eafford and Benjamin Eafford, Sr., was born September 20, 1954, in Early County, Georgia.
He received his formal education in the Early County School System, including Early County High School. Upon graduation he enlisted into the United States Army where he served his country with distinction and was honorably discharged at the close of his tour of duty. After returning to civilian life, he resided in Miami, Florida and later relocated to Claxton, Georgia.
Benjamin was a very persistent individual whose professional work life was very rewarding. He was an incredibly skilled and gifted construction worker whose craftsmanship was put to task daily until his retirement. His expertise and professional ethics were second to none and he worked tirelessly to ensure that no task was ever left undone.
"Junior and Pickle," as he was affectionately called, loved his family; treasured his friends; and was always "on call" to help anyone in need. He had a big heart for all things in life. Benjamin was a loving brother, a caring uncle, a cherished cousin, and a loyal friend who touched the lives of people around him in a very special way. He will be missed by all who dearly loved him.
On Tuesday, August 11, 2020, Benjamin departed this earthly life at Emanuel Medical Center in Swainsboro, Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bernell Eafford; and his grandparents, Jimmy and Ellen Randle and JB and Rose Eafford.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by the love of his life, Lula Smith; five siblings, Barbara Eafford and Brenda (Joseph) Murchison of Miami, FL, Bernyce Robinson and Bruce Eafford of Albany, GA, and Belvin (Beverly) Eafford of Kissimmee, FL; special nieces and nephews, Belinda Tarpley, Byron (Yemese) Dawson and Bentley Robinson of Albany, GA, and Joanna Murchison of Miami, FL, ; goddaughters, Kereitha Smith of Miami, FL and Isabelia Kato of Metter, GA; one aunt, Pearlie Mae Randle of Arlington, GA; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and a host o f cousins, other relatives, and friends.
