Bennie Lee Mitchell was born in Albany, Georgia on December 6, 1961. He was the loving son of the late James C. and Vera Mae Mitchell.
He was educated in the Dougherty County School System, including Albany High School. Throughout school, Bennie was a lively, strong-willed young man who was always ready for adventure and actively participated in various student activities and events.
Bennie was a loving father, committed brother, caring uncle, unforgettable cousin, and loyal friend who embraced life with open arms. He took advantage of every opportunity to spend time with family; and he nurtured relationships with people that remain to this day his life-long friends. Hi love of life, sense of humor and laughter, and energetic personality brought happiness and peace to everyone around him; thereby, creating memories that will never be forgotten.
On May 2, 2023, Bennie transitioned from this earthly life to eternal rest and peace. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, King Mitchell, Andre Mitchell, Nathaniel Mitchell and Leroy Mitchell; and his grandson, Nacorie Williams.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by his children, Kandra Mitchell-Young (Zacariyah) of Jonesboro, GA and Makasomia Williams of Albany, GA; his stepdaughter, Dawntia Clark; siblings, Dorothy Harmon, Betty Moody (Leon), Sarah Clay, James C. Mitchell (Rosetta) Willie C. Mitchell, Lenton Mitchell, and Charlie Lee Mitchell all of Albany, GA, and Diane Williams of Lanette, AL; thirteen grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
