On January 14 in the winter of 1982, Brian Odom and Valerie Porter welcomed a ray of sunshine who they named Bertrailia Lanise Odom. She would affectionately be called "Cupcake" and "Trail" by family and friends. From childhood through adulthood, Trail brought love and laughter wherever she went. On April 16, 2025, after a valiant and courageous fight, God welcomed Trail into his presence.

Trail joined Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church as a child and served until her health declined.  She was a proud Golden Tornado, having graduated from Monroe Comprehensive High School in 2000.  Trail was ambitious and driven, and was always embarking on new endeavors to broaden her knowledge and skillset.  She worked for the Dougherty County School System, Boys & Girls Club, and Open Arms. She participated in Strive 2 Thrive and was awarded the 2023 Jane Wilson Family of the Year Award.  In 2023, she became certified as a medical assistant; and in 2024 she became a Phlebotomy technician, graduating with top honors.

With all of her life achievements, Trail's greatest achievement occurred on October 16, 2007, when she gave birth to her 'sonshine', Jaylon. She was a dedicated and proud mother who poured love, encouragement, wisdom and discipline into her son.  She was active in numerous parent groups and was always in search of new opportunities for Jaylon to be the best person he could be.

Trail was preceded in death by her mother, Valerie Porter-Fleming, with whom she had a close relationship.
