Betty Jean Armstrong, daughter of the late Leon and Bertha Lee Crump, was born in Sylvester, Georgia on April 26, 1952.
During the early years of her life, she attended the public schools of Worth County. Upon professing her faith and belief in Christ, she united with the St. Peter Baptist Church of Albany. In later years, she united with the New Direction Christian Church under the leadership of Apostle Izell Williams.
She was united in holy matrimony to Tommy William Moore. With this union, they were blessed with a loving family and shared many happy years. Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who created a home filled with love and support. Over the years, she diligently cared for the needs of her family through her employment as a private duty nurse. She was a deeply caring and compassionate person whose life was filled with service to others.
Family and friends were Betty's greatest cherished gifts. Her passionate, one-of-a-kind personality attracted a wide circle of people who became the recipients of a long, loving, and lasting friendship. Regardless of the circumstances, she was always there to lend a helping hand without expecting anything in return. Betty enjoyed many things in life—fishing, gardening, Bible Study with her grandchildren, cooking, and spending quality time with all who were so dear to her heart.
On February 5 2018, Betty answered the Master's call to eternal rest.
She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish fond memories, three children, Keith (April) Moore, Shanta (Perry) Moore-Williams, and Towanda Moore; one brother, Clyde Mack Crump; twenty-one grandchildren, Keith Jr., Lashonda, Tymeshia, Dyshanquia, Keyonna, Kevoski, Santambria, Kentorian, Shakiera, Keyontae, Kemoria, Shandrius, Jazzynae, Derrick, Darrien, Perry Jr., Stephanie, Shontaesia, Shakila, Kiambra, and Zackeria; thirteen great grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
I Made It Home
I just wanted to let you know that I made it home.
Everything is so pretty here, so white, so fresh and new;
I wish that you could close your eyes and that you could see it too.
Please try not to be sad for me and try to understand;
That God is taking care of me…I'm in the shelter of His hands.
Here there is no sadness, no sorrow, and no pain;
Here there is no crying and I'll never hurt again.
Here it is so peaceful when all the angels sing;
I really have to go for now…I've just got to try my wings.
