IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Billie Jean
Williams
May 16, 1956 – February 7, 2025
Billie Jean Williams was born in Albany, Georgia on May 16, 1956. She was the beloved daughter of the late Eugene Harris, Sr. and the late Diane Tracy Harris.
She received her formal education in the Dougherty County and Chatham County School Systems, including Monroe High School. Throughout school, Billie Jean displayed an array of talents. She was a prolific writer, poet, artist, and she loved to sing.
From a very early age, Billie was nurtured in the Word of God. She began her journey of Christian stewardship at Church of the Living Word under the leadership of the late Reverend George E. and Pastor Mary Ann Whitley. In later years, she united with the Lion of Judah under the guidance of Pastor Walter Chambers. As she continued in her season, still excited about God's work, New Jerusalem Faith Ministries, Inc. became her final earthly church home under the covering of Bishop Jerry Cochran. Through the years, she remained steadfast and unmovable—always with the joy of the Lord in her heart.
Billie was the epitome of a devoted mother, grandmother, and meticulous homemaker. She took her role seriously and invested much time and skill in caring for her home and family. Whether needing advice, a listening ear, or casual conversation, she was always available to hear them out. Oftentimes, she sacrificed her needs for the good of her family and showered them daily with unconditional love.
On February 7, 2025, Almighty God called his servant home to eternal rest and peace. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Paula Renee Barnes; and her loving sister, Florence Elizabeth Ann Harris.
Precious memories will forever be cherished by her children, Sharon Williams and John Williams both of Albany, GA, Melva Williams of Putney, GA, and Stacie (Kenneth) Price of Leesburg, GA; siblings, Ret. Colonel Eugenia Snead, Eugene Harris, Jr., and Lee Tracy Harris; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
