A Time to Be Born…
Bishop Willie B Young was born on June 30, 1939 to the late Deacon Willie Young, Sr., and the late Mother Sarah Sibley Young.
A Time to Plant…
"Willie B" as he was affectionately known as accepted Christ at an early age under the guidance and leadership of his grandfather, the late Bishop William "Bill" Sibley at The Church of the Living God in Albany, GA. He began preaching around the altar as a deacon and was ordained as a pastor in 1982. He later became assistant pastor of the Church of the Living God. In March of 1989, Willie founded the New Pentecostal House of Prayer. Under the leadership of the late Bishop James Finney, Bishop Young served as the general secretary and presiding Elder of the State of Georgia for Faith Tabernacle Deliverance of the Apostolic Doctrines, Inc. in 2001. On April 18, 2004, he was duly consecrated as bishop in the Lord's church and a short two years later, was appointed presiding bishop of the Churches of Deliverance. In an act of unity, the New Pentecostal House of Prayer was changed to the Lighthouse Church of Deliverance. Returning to his roots in 2014, Bishop Willie Young returned to the Church of the Living God family with Overseer David Sibley, pastor of the Church of the Living God Chapel Seat.
His work extended beyond the walls of the church. Bishop Young was employed by Air Products and at Phillips Floor Covering. An entrepreneurial spirit would lead him to build Young's Carpet from which he would retire in 2010.
A Time to Love…
On January 17, 1959, Willie married Doristine Williams affectionately known as "Coot." To this union was born 8 beautiful children Tommy, Michael, Bridget, Willie, III, Michele, Alexis, Avery, Letina.
