B. J. Harris, Jr. was born in Dawson, Georgia on May 29, 1965. He was the beloved son of Mary Dean Harris and the late B. J. Harris, Sr.
During the early years of his life, he attended the public schools of Lee County, including Lee County High School where he participated in numerous school events and activities.
As a youth, B. J. accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with the Promise Land Church. In later years, he was baptized and united with the Building A People of Christ Ministries.
In 1999, he met his soulmate and love of his life, Bridget. They were united in marriage on February 19, 2004. Their union was blessed with three loving children—Tifany, Zekeria, and B. J. II. As a husband and father, B. J. was a man of numerous construction-related skills and interests that enabled him to provide unconditionally for his family before his health declined. He was employed with Giles Lumber Company for 15 years, and he worked 16 years as a fabricator at Sellers Tile of Albany. No matter what the task, he worked diligently to ensure that no task was left undone.
B. J. was an incredible "family man" who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was known for having a very kind heart, an amazing sense of humor, and a helpful and encouraging spirit. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
On Tuesday, February 27, 2018, B. J. peacefully transitioned from this earthly life at his residence.
He leaves to mourn his passing and treasure precious memories a very devoted wife, Bridget Y. Harris; three children, Tiffany Harris of Panama City, FL, and Zakeria Buchannon and B. J.
