IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bobbie
Williams
July 15, 1958 – August 27, 2017
As a youth, he began his fellowship with Christ at Greater Bethel AME Church in Miami. He later united with the Gospel Arena of Faith under the leadership of Reverend Dr. T. G Thompson.
He received his formal education in the Miami-Dade County Public Schools, including Douglas Elementary School, Booker T. Washing Middle School, and Miami Sr. High School.
Heeding the "call for military duty after graduating from high school," Bobbie enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served with distinction. At the close of his tour of duty, he received an honorable discharge and returned to civilian life.
He was united in holy matrimony to his beloved Regina—a union that endured through the years. Bobbie was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who worked hard to make a good life for his family. He labored untiringly as a Longshoreman with the International Longshoreman's Association Local Union 1416 until his retirement.
Bobbie enjoyed being active and especially loved spending quality time with his family and friends. He had an engaging personality, gigantic heart, and a very welcoming spirit. The strong bonds of friendship that he developed throughout his life will long be remembered and cherished.
On August 27, 2017, Bobbie's earthly life ended and he quietly transitioned from our midst at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Harry Harper, his daughter, Deborah J. McKenzie, and his father-in-law, Pastor Joe Atkins, Jr.
Loving memories will be forever cherished by his devoted wife, Regina Williams; his children, Athena McKenzie, Shanena (Anthony) White, Ashante Williams, Shakeema Williams, Shaniya Roberts, Carshay Roberts, Ulysses (Nikki) White, Antonio (Nikki) Silas, Martin (Precious) Matheis, Rashod Matheis, Rashu (Vanessa) Mtheis, Javon Williams, and Brandon Williams all of Miami, FL; three siblings, Phyllis (Steven) Clemon of Indianapolis, IN, and Dalvin Davis and Deren Davis of Miami, FL; grandchildren, Destiny, Jeremia, Demetrius, Berry, Alasia, Z'niah, Antonio, Keon, Marcus, A'rtanisha, Tharron, Jaquaris, Ty'Quan, Martin Jr., Martin III, Martrice, Rashyon, Zianna, Javon, Jamel, Malik, Takalah, Jaceion, DeQuantez, Kawhannie, and Ulysses Jr.; mother-in-law, Pastor Irene Atkins of Las Vegas, NV; two aunts, Barbara Alex of Albany, GA and Delorise of Miami, FL; six sisters-in-law of Miami, FL; brothers-in-law, Joe Atkins III of Las Vegas, NV and Damon Atkins of Albany, GA; the Johnson and Williams families of Ocala, FL; the Davis family of Miami, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers and the ILA family, extended family, and friends.
