Bobby Divers , son of the late Mary and Johnny Hudson,was born in Albany, Georgia on August 4, 1940.

Bobby grew up as a friend to everyone. In his youth, he was energetically adventurous and saw the world with a unique perspective. Even when challenged with an injury that caused issues with his legs, he pressed forward and never gave up.   During one of his routine "late evening visits" to the home of Andrew and Annie P. Ellis, he was extended an invitation to "move in—if he got his own bed." Bobby never left; and for 60 years, he was a part of the Ellis family.

Throughout his life, Bobby was a hardworking, caring, and lovable person with a heart of gold. For many years, he was employed at Harris Grocery where he labored untiringly delivering groceries, working the meat counter, and stocking shelves. No matter what the task, he took great pride in his work and always had a gigantic smile that melted the hearts of everyone around him. To know him was to love him.

On Wednesday, July 12, 2017, Bobby departed this earthly life and entered into eternal rest. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four siblings, Ida Mae Mathis, Jimmy Divers, Arthur Divers, and Eddie Hudson; and two extended family members, Andrew Ellis and Annie P. Ellis.

He leaves fond memories that will forever be cherished by his siblings, Malinda Hicks, Mary Ellis, Kimberly (Rufus) Ingram, and Terry (Shirley) Ellis all of Albany, GA; two nieces, Joann Mullins and Cornelia (Willie James) Smith of Albany, GA; nephews, Jarris (Voncille) Finch of Stafford, VA, and Kelvin Davis of Jacksonville, FL and Cedric Mathis of Albany, GA; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

I am home in heaven, dear ones,
Oh! so happy and so bright,
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief are over,
Every restless yearning passed;
I am now at peace forever
Safely home in heaven at last.
