IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bobby
Fletcher
December 11, 1955 – December 29, 2017
Bobby received his formal education in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Monroe High School in 1976.
Having professed his faith and belief in the Lord, Bobby united with the Pleasant Green Baptist Church in Lee County. He later became a member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where he was a faithful servant. In 2006, he united with the Emmanuel Seventh Day Adventist Church and continued his Christian walk with the Lord until his demise. Bobby was blessed with the gift of song and utilized his beautiful tenor voice as a faithful member of the choir. He loved praising God and many rejoiced as he melodiously ministered in song.
On February 14, 1992, he was joined in holy matrimony to his soulmate, his best friend, his "Bootsie", Dorothy R. Jones. Their bond endured through the years as they honored their vows to love and cherish each other.
Bobby's professional work life ws diverse and rewarding. For many years, he worked at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital as a security guard, data processor, and with Environmental Services. He was later employed as a transporter for the Slater King Center and a night janitor for Burger King until his health declined. Bobby enjoyed singing, fishing, basketball, and antique trucks. He had a big heart and was a source of encouragement and joy to everyone he met. His radiant smile touched many hearts and lives in very special ways.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by her sister, Mary L. Hunter; and a stepdaughter, Audrey Wilson.
She leaves a lifetime of love and memories to be cherished by his loving wife, Dorothy R. Fletcher; his children, Botoyah Zenee Fletcher of Albany, GA and Kaelyn Brianne Darley of Longanville, GA; siblings, Thelma Brown, Hilda (Allen) shines, Benjamin (Elizabeth) Fletcher, Jr. all of Albany, GA, and Roy (Minnie Pearl) Fletcher, Sr. of St. Petersburg, FL; four stepchildren, Paul (Kim) Wilson, Jr., Stacey (Timothy) Robinson, Stephanie Oliver of Albany, GA, and Joseph (Lorraine) Wilson of Orange Park, FL; a grandson, Talen Pugh; three devoted step-grandchildren that helped in his caregiving, Kwantareus Wilson, Jastacia (Eric) Walker, and Daryl Johnson, Jr.; other step-grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
