Brenda Joyce Bryant Gilbert transitioned on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. She is the daughter of the late Mr. Louis and Mrs. Willie C. Bryant of Albany, Georgia. In 1983, she was joined in  marriage to Mr. Calvin Gilbert and to this union two children were born: Vernea Lenita Bryant and Julian Emerson Gilbert.

She was educated in the Dougherty County School System and was a cheerleader and graduate of Monroe Comprehensive High School Class of 1978.

Brenda's favorite past time was dancing and enjoying her reign as Queen at Mary Polite.

Cherished memories of Brenda will forever be in the hearts of her two children, daughter, Vernea Lenita Bryant and son, Julian Emerson Gilbert (Ashley); brothers, Louis Bryant, Genious Bryant, and Fearon Bryant; and sisters Alice B. Jones, Bettye Bryant, and Jacquelyn Bryant, all of Albany, Georgia; five grandchildren, A'aShanee, Kye'Reon, Kaydence, Julian II, and Kaylee; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and close friends.

Brenda will also be missed by her dog "Candy Girl''.
