IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Brenda W.
King
August 24, 1960 – March 2, 2025
Brenda Ann Walker was born August 24, 1960 to Willie Frank Walker (deceased) & Elizabeth Walker (deceased) in Tifton, Georgia. She was the eldest of four siblings. Those siblings were, in order of birth, Charlier Frank Walker (Buckeye, Arizona), Cleo Walker (deceased), & Linda Jean Walker (Albany, Georgia).
Brenda graduated from Dougherty High School in Albany, Georgia in the year 1978. She then went on to receive an Associate's Degree from Darton College followed by a Bachelor's Degree in Counseling & Education from Albany State University. She also pursued a Master's Degree for a time.
Brenda went on to marry Terry Lee King, a marriage that ended in divorce, yet produced two sons whom she treasured, Jerit Jerone King (deceased) & Justin LéCory King. She was a loving & devoted mother, aunt, & friend to many with an unmistakable kindness & remarkable courage. Brenda had big dreams for her life despite the challenges she faced. She persevered through four rounds of cancer, including multiple surgeries, chemo, & radiation while holding onto the hope & desire to be there for her family no matter the hardships she faced. Her dreams & that devotion to family were the driving forces which kept her going for nearly 20 years of treatment despite it all. In the end, the death of her son Jerit on November 14, 2024, proved more than she could handle & her health began to decline. Ultimately, she had lost her will to fight. Following a medical emergency the week prior, Brenda Walker King passed on at Pheobe Memorial Hospital while her son Justin held her hand on the evening of March 2, 2025.
In life, Brenda enjoyed reading & was enthusiastic about decorating, traveling, dining out, & spending time with family & friends whenever possible. She had a true appreciation for life's experiences. She dreamed of going on cruises & traveling to other countries, but her illnesses & financial struggles got in the way like it does for many. Still, she always maintained an infectious enthusiasm to experience new things with whatever time she had. Her hardships never shook her kindness, compassion, or desire to dream big.
Brenda is survived by her son Justin, sister Linda, a loving aunt, as well as a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, & extended family. She was someone who was loved by many & will be missed by more as she will live on in the hearts of family & friends forever.
