Brianna Latrelle Monroe Mitchell, beloved daughter of Brigit Clark Simmons and Lorenzo Dukes Monroe III, was born in Albany, Georgia on March 25, 1989.

She received her formal education in the Dougherty County School System.  Throughout her school years, she excelled academically, developed valuable life skills, and was active in numerous student organizations and activities.

In 2007, Brianna relocated to Savannah, Georgia with her family.  There, she met and was totally captivated by the love of her life, Kenyatta Mitchell.   They shared a love and devotion to one another that was unshakeable.  She was a devoted wife, mother, homemaker, and caregiver who ate not the bread of idleness; but, diligently cared for the needs of her family.

Brianna had a servant's heart and felt most comfortable when helping others.  The distance that she would go for her family was also the distance that she would go for a friend or a stranger—never expecting anything in return.  When in her presence, there was never a dull moment.  She was a trusted friend and confidant, accepted everyone for who they were, and openly welcomed family and friends into her heart and home.  Her kind, gentle spirit will always have a very special place in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of being a part of her life.

On August 3, 2023, peacefully Brianna transitioned from this earthly life.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lorenzo Dukes Monroe, Jr. and Berta Mae Bush Monroe of Thomasville, Georgia.

Loving memories will forever be cherished by her husband, Kenyatta Mitchell; her son, Parris Saxon Monroe and his father, Willie Davis; parents, Brigit Clark Simmons of Albany, GA and Lorenzo Dukes Monroe III of Thomasville, GA; stepfather, Jonathan Jackson of Charleston, SC; grandparents, Martin and Virginia Clark of Albany, GA; siblings, Joshua (Alexis) Jackson, Lorenzo Dukes Monroe IV, Zebulon Caleb Isaiah Monroe, Zolyn Emanueal Monroe, Zoe Emorial Monroe, Zokeria Omega Monroe, and Zidaja Eleganzelle Monore; aunts and uncles, Tonja (Willie) Farmer of Albany, GA, Karen Calrk of Conyers, GA, Angela (Victor) Owens of Griffin, GA, Stephan (Tameka) Monroe of Thomasville, GA, and Martin Luther Clark, Jr.; a very close friend, Jennifer Wimberly; and a host of great aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.
