IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cameka Donyetta
Marcus
August 1, 1978 – August 9, 2019
Cameka Donyetta Marcus , beloved daughter of Vera Mae Marcus and Darryl Brown, was born in Mitchell County, Georgia on August 1, 1978.
She attended the public schools of Mitchell County and was active in different school activities.
At a very early age, Cameka accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with St. Mary Baptist Church in Baconton, Georgia. She was a faithful to the Lord for numerous years and remained obedient in her walk with Christ.
Cameka was a very perceptive, good-natured, and genuine, person who was a joy to be around. Her heart was filled with love and compassion and her family meant the world to her. She laughed often, felt unbridled happiness, and loved unconditionally. Cameka lived life with the attitude that "there is always someone worse off than me." She had a selfless spirit and never hesitated to encourage and support others. Even in the midst of grave health challenges and life's ups and downs, she was always positive and grateful for every good thing that came her way. She was an exceptional daughter, a loving sister, a nurturing aunt, a caring niece, a committed cousin, and an unforgettable friend. Her stamina and strength helped us realize that every day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her dearly.
On Friday, August 9, 2019, Cameka answered the call to eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gladys Ross Marcus and Simon Marcus; and two aunts, Mattie Pearl Marcus and Elizabeth Ann Coleman.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by her parents, Vera Mae Marcus of Albany, GA and Darryl Brown of Milledgeville, GA; siblings, Marilyn Marcus of Camilla, GA, LaShun Marcus and Darryl (Shirvantes) Marcus of Albany, GA, Tanyia Marcus of Grayson, GA, Kevin (Cherita) Marcus of Sidney, OH, and Antious Marcus of Stone Mountain, GA; a very close nephew who was like a brother, Keary Marcus of Albany, GA; aunts, Mary C. Marcus of Baconton, GA, Elaine Marcus of Albay, GA, and Rutha M. Marcus-Johnson of Orlando, FL; uncles, Lewis Marcus of Camilla, GA, and Simon Marcus, Jr., Harry Marcus, and Michael Marcus all of Baconton, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
