IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol Ann
Bush
January 31, 1943 – September 27, 2021
Carol Ann Young Bush was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 31, 1943. She was the beloved daughter of the late Charles and Rose Young.
Growing up in Brooklyn, she received her formal education in the Kings County School System. She was an exceptionally talented, astute young lady with a zeal for knowledge. Hailing from a family that valued higher education, Carol completed her undergraduate studies and later matriculated at Brooklyn College, earning a Master's degree in Sociology.
Carol relocated to Albany, Georgia to begin a new chapter in her life. Having been raised in a strong Christian home, she activated the principles of the church covenant and united with Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Over the years, she rendered unparalleled service in her calling as a member of the Golden Girls Senior Adult Ministry. Her faith and trust in God guided her life and allowed her to be an example to all who encountered her.
In 1986, Carol was joined in marriage to Jimmy Bush. For 35 years, she proved to be a strong tower and a true anchor to her husband. She was an altruistic lady who worked hard to consistently pursue excellence in her home; believed strongly in family ties and responsibilities; and created fun-filled, unforgettable, and lasting memories.
Carol touched many lives and served in many roles in her community. For many years, she was employed as a social worker with the Department of Family and Children Services. Blessed with a strong work ethic, Carol established herself as a loyal, dedicated worker with unquestionable integrity. While her work at DFACS was diverse and rewarding, she later transitioned to an early intervention career as a Case Manager at Babies Can't Wait. Carol retired after rendering innumerable years of distinguished service.
Often described as a kind, compassionate, and loving individual, Carol was the sunshine in many hearts and never knew a stranger. She had a servant's heart and took great pride in using her God-given talents to help others. Many people considered her a wise, trusted counsel and a difference maker. She was the kind of person that anyone would be proud to call wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Carol's family was unequivocally the joy of her life and she cherished precious moments spent with them. Her many grandchildren held the key to her heart and always received a call from her on birthdays and special occasions. In her leisure, she enjoyed traveling and savoring the beauty of God's creation.
On September 27, 2021, Carol transcended from life on earth to spend life everlasting with our Lord. She will be remembered for her loving kindness, her warrior spirit in prayer, and her faithful steadfastness to all mankind.
She leaves a legacy of love to be cherished by her devoted husband, Jimmy Bush; her children, Anthony Jones of Brooklyn, NY, Mark (Shakiah) Jones of Charlotte, NC, and Deborah (Alphonso) Carrier and Tracey Jones of Albany, GA; five siblings, Diana Menehiem and Denise Davidson of New Jersey, Rose (Phillip) Hampton, and Robert (Juilette) Young; a myriad of grandchildren and great grandchildren; special friends, Jeanne Goshey and Eve Canton of Brooklyn, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends.
