IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carolyn Gordon
Chives
July 3, 1966 – March 14, 2019
Carolyn Gordon Chives, beloved daughter of the late Mercedes Hall Griffin and Robert Gordon, was born in Albany, Georgia on July 3, 1966.
A life-long resident of Albany, she received her formal education in the public schools of Dougherty County where she actively participated in numerous school organizations and activities.
Carolyn was a persistent, hardworking mother who gave her best at whatever she did. Her work experiences include positions with Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, employment as a caregiver, and a cook with the East Albany Walmart. No matter what the task, she took great pride in a job well done.
A joy to be around, Carolyn was a very genuine and kind-hearted person with a warm and magnetic personality. She had a great sense of humor, never met a stranger, and could converse with anyone who came into her life. Carolyn was truly dedicated to her family and she never missed an opportunity to spend quality time with them. She freely opened her heart and home to family and friends. Her unwavering spirit, generosity, and unconditional love will forever be remembered.
On Thursday, March 14, 2019, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, sister-in-law, cousin, and friend was called from labor to reward. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six siblings, Tony Gordon, Henry Stephens, Luther Washington, Willie C. Washington, Emma Washington and Deloris Washington.
