Carolyn Mechelle Luke was born in Albany, Georgia on March 1, 1968. She was the daughter of Samuel Luke and the late Josie Luke.

She received her formal education in the public schools of Dougherty County and was active in various school organizations and activities.

Carolyn's love for children led her down the pathway to a career in childcare services. For many years, she was employed with various Daycare Centers of Albany. She found great joy in her life-long passion that enabled her to provide unconditionally for her family.

Carolyn was a caring, sharing, loving, and kind daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She always sacrificed her needs for the good of her family. Even when times were tough, she always smiled, never complained, and always looked to a better future. Carolyn enjoyed taking care of her family, having a good laugh with friends, and creating fashionable hair styles.

On April 20, 2018, surrounded by her family and friends, Carolyn quietly entered into eternal rest. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Zyerial Jackson; sister, Melissa Luke; nieces, Iderica Luke and Ja'Allisono Daniels; and one nephew, Dontavious Luke.

She will be deeply missed and remembered forever by her children, Rodriques Plant of Atlanta, GA, Rasheika Plant and Casheema Martin both of Albany, GA; two siblings, Patricia Luke and Safford Seay both of Albany, GA; eight grandchildren, Rodriques Plant, Jr. Michael Brown, Jr., Synmiayah Plant, Razaria Henderson, Azerial Davis, Iderica Bagley, Rajanique Wooden, and Rihanna Wooden all of Albany, GA; goddaughter, Brittany Baisden of Albany, GA; god-grandsons, Cedric Baisden and Quantavius Wade, Jr. of Albany, GA; godsisters, Stephanie Miller of Atlanta, GA and Angela Mason; a special friend, Tomika Ward; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
