IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carolyn Wilson
White
June 9, 1957 – May 4, 2025
Carolyn Wilson White, beloved daughter of Johnny Wilson and the late Doris Merritt Bryant, was born June 9, 1947, in Worth County, Georgia.
At a very early age, Carolyn accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church. She dearly loved the Lord and remained an humble and faithful service—always giving God the glory and praise.
She received her early childhood and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Dougherty High School in 1975. Throughout school, Carolyn was a very considerate, attentive young lady with a yearning to be of service and help others. After graduation, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she was employed in the food service industry for many years, until returning to Albany. She was an exceptional cook and was known for her famous "tater salad" with a succulent secret ingredient!
Carolyn met and married the love of her life, Ronnie White, who preceded her in death. Family relationship were vital to her and a source of great joy and fellowship. Although she did not have children of her own, the Lord allowed her to perform a maternal role for many children who crossed her path. Freely, she opened the umbrella of unconditional love and generosity to them; thus, leaving a permanent impression in their hearts.
A very kind and gentle lady, Carolyn was never too busy to extend a listening ear or lend a helping hand. She had a servant's heart, saw the beauty in all things, and accepted everyone for who they were without judgement. Anyone who knew her would agree that she was extremely straight-forward and unpretentious; but she was also the voice of calm, comfort, and humility. She was full of life, love, and kindness; nevertheless, she was never short of a joke or perfectly timed comic relief. When in her company, there was never a dull moment. Spending time with family and friends was paramount in her life and she cherished the time spent with them. Being loved by her was to know you would be loved for a lifetime.
On Sunday, May 4, 2025, Carolyn answered the Master's call at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and peacefully transitioned to eternal rest. In addition to her mother and beloved husband, she was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents; her sister, Jackie King; aunt, Emma Jean Roberts; and uncles, Randolph, Leonard, Willie B., and Jimmy Merritt.
Cherished memories will forever remain with her father, Johnny Wilson; siblings, Thomas (Evonda) Bryant, Michael Norris, Cedric Crapp, and Elizabeth Bryant Cuff all of Albany, GA, Donna (Willie) Clark of Lumpkin, GA, Yolanda Williams of Phenix City, AL, and Karen Wright of Atlanta, GA; aunts and uncles, Ruby Merritt, Martha Moreland, Melvin Merritt, and Bobby Roberts; god-sister and caregiver, Mabel Williams; nieces and nephews, Monique Cuff, Porshia Bryant, Octavian Parks, Sr., and Jarrel Cuff; godchildren, Eva, Veronica, Patricia, Evangela, Yeah, and Richard; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
