IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cassandra Fay
Rountree
April 12, 1963 – August 30, 2025
Cassandra Batten Rountree was born Clearwater, Florida on April 12, 1963. She was the beloved daughter of the late Bishop Robert Batten, Sr. and Missionary Emma Batten.
She was educated in the Florida Public School District. Cassandra valued education and took advantage of every opportunity to learn and grow.
Very early in life, Cassandra was taught the Word of God and the importance of living a life of strong character and loving kindness. As a youth, she began her journey of Christian stewardship at the Apostolic Church of Jesus in Safety Harbor, Florida. It was there that her love for God was strengthened and her spiritual gifts were nurtured. Her journey brought multiple levels of service in various capacities and ministries under the leadership and guidance of Pastor B. Montgomery. In later years, she united with the Apostolic Worship Center of Orlando, Florida under the leadership of Bishop Frank Thompson. Cassandra was blessed with a gifted and loving spirit, and she served the Lord with her whole heart. You could not know her without being inspired by her strong faith and convictions that led her to a life of honor, respect, and unfaltering devotion.
Having been totally captivated by Pastor Earl Rountree, a courtship ensued which resulted in Cassandra being joined in holy matrimony to the love of her life. Together, they embarked on an adventure of a lifetime filled with love, respect, and commitment to each other. She was a faithful wife and loving mother who ate not the bread of idleness and often sacrificed her needs for the good of her family. Her diligence in caring for her family was the personification of a Proverbs 31 Woman, "A wife of noble character whose worth was far above rubies...Her children rose up and called her blessed."
Life was precious to First Lady Cassandra and she genuinely cherished every moment spent here on earth. She was a pillar of fortitude and strength; took great pride in helping others—never asking anything in return; enjoyed playing games on her phone, reading her Bible, and preparing meals for her family; and she always found a silver lining in every situation. Her sweet and simple demeanor won the trust and hearts of many. Having the privilege of being loved by her was to know you would be loved for a lifetime.
On August 30, Lady Cassandra peacefully transitioned from this earthly life. Her seeds were well sown, her service is complete, and she now experiences the victory and triumph of eternal life.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by her husband, Pastor Earl Rountree; two sons, Michael and Alexander Rountree; siblings, Robert Batten, Jr. (Vernice) and Phyllis Crayton; uncles and aunts, Bishop Cornell Cunningham Margaret), Thomas Brooks (Winona, Abram Brooks, Leon Brooks, Johnnie Batten (Terry), Donald Batten, Lulamae Palmer, Gwendolyn Batten, and Fannie Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
