Cathy Lavonne Rowe, daughter of Rosa Washington Rowe and the late Robert Rowe, Jr., was born in Albany, Georgia on October 9, 1967.

She received her formal education in the Dougherty County School System.  Throughout school, Cathy was a lively, energetic student and a ray of sunshine to teachers, fellow students, and friends.

From a very early age, Cathy was taught to love and reverence God.   She was prayerful in her daily walk and  remained steadfast in her faith and belief in Jesus Christ while attending The Light House under the guidance of Pastor Young.

Cathy was an exceptional mother who looked well to the ways of her household through her employment as a cook at Hardees.   She was  a valued employee who took pride in her work and always stayed the course to ensure that no task was ever left undone.

Often described as a strong but gentle woman, Cathy was a joy to be around.  She was a friend you could always count on and stood ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.  In her family, she was the "calm in the storm—the glue that held them together."  She believed deeply in unconditional love, delighted in spending time with family and friends, and truly enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.  Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to have known her.

On October 4, 2021, Cathy transitioned from this earthly life to eternal rest and peace.  In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mercedes Washington, Pink Washington, Mittie B. Rowe, and Robert Rowe, Sr.

Fond memories will be forever cherished by her mother, Rosa Rowe of Albany, GA; her sons, George A. Rowe and Dominique Rowe both of Albany, GA; siblings, Darryl Rowe, Sr., William Frank (Sarah) Rowe, Kennith M. Rowe, Christopher Davis, and Lillian D. Buchanan all of Albany, GA; a special friend, Joseph Cotton of Albany, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
