IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cecil Morris
Moore
May 1, 1955 – April 24, 2025
Cecil Morris Moore, beloved son of the late Curtis Moore and Hazel Sue Stewart Moore, was born May 1, 1955.
He received his early childhood and secondary education in the Mitchell County School System, graduating from Mitchell County High School in 1972. Throughout school, he was a very inquisitive student who garnered much from his educational experiences and co-curricular activities. A life-long learner, he later continued his education at Albany Technical School in Precision Machining.
Very early in life, Benjamin accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior; was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church in Hopeful, Georgia; and began a life-time of Christian fellowship.
Cecil was a very industrious, persistent individual who was no stranger to hard work and gave his best at everything he did. Having been trained and credentialed to be a machinist, Cecil utilized his training and skills in his work at Lilliston Corporation, Ayres, Boeing, and Cooper Tires. Over the years, he poured himself into his work; excelled highly in each job setting; and never shied away from a challenge. Often, he was recognized for his expertise, high expectations, perseverance, and unquestionable integrity.
In 2006, Cecil was blessed with a second chance at love and marriage. He was united in holy matrimony to Vernee Henderson and they embarked on an 18-year adventure filled with love, respect, and commitment to each other. Cecil was a loving husband and father who offered much time and attention to his family. Whether needing advice a listening ear, or casual conversation, they all knew that he was always available to offer a steady hand.
Cecil had a big heart for all things and found great pleasure in every circumstance. He gave of himself freely, loved unconditionally, and impacted the lives of many around him in a very special way. The joy of his life was spending time with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of being a part of his life.
Although faced with significant health challenges, Cecil's faith never wavered and he persevered courageously until he faced the sunset of his life on April 24, 2025. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lisa F. Moore; and his sister, Carletha Marlene Moore.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by his wife, Vernee Henderson Moore; his daughters, Valerie Range, Cecilia Taylor, and Felicia Moore; two sisters, Joanne (Robert) Gibson and Sandra Atkins; grandchildren, Micah Taylor and Micayla Taylor; bonus children, Calvin Leroy and Sarah Henderson; bonus granddaughter, Destin; father-in-law, Willie Henderson; mother-in-law, Etheleen Hall; brother and sister-in-law, Willie Hall and Laura Granberry; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends .
