Obituary
Charlene Marshall Anderson, beloved daughter of the late Charlie Marshall and Christine Devine Marshall, was born in Leary, Georgia on February 27, 1954.
She was educated in the Calhoun County School System, including H . T. Singleton High School where she was active in numerous school activities and organizations.
From a very early age, Charlene was immersed in the Christian community that would be her lifelong support. As a youth, she heeded the call of Christ and began her journey with the Lord at Eureka Baptist Church. She was a faithful and dedicated member whose faith in God never wavered. Her life was a blessing to many people.
Realizing that marriage was ordained by God, she was united in holy matrimony to Sylvester Anderson. This union was blessed with four sons, Cortez, Keith, Carlton, and Christian. She was a devoted mother who taught her children to be respectful and humble, to love one another, to be industrious and productive, and to always love and trust in the Lord.
Family was central in Charlene's life and she treasured the time spent with them. She was a very loving and caring daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend who enjoyed the "simple" pleasures of life. "Goon" as she was affectionately called, was a compassionate and generous individual who inspired her friends and family with her faith and perseverance. Even in the midst of physical health challenges, she continually pressed forward and never complained. Her friendliness and kindness to all people, and her devotion and love for her family are lasting tributes to the beauty of her heart and soul.
On Wednesday, December 6, 2017, Charlene peacefully transitioned from this earthly life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Marshall and Charlie Marshall.
Although absent from he body, she will forever be present in the hearts of her loving sons, Cortez (Mattie Mae) Anderson, Keith (Vivian) Anderson, Carlton Anderson, and Christian (Shalia) Anderson; five siblings, Kenneth (Mary Helen) Marshall, Martha Sanders, Dorothy (David) Lovett, Linda (Willie) Jackson, and Cynthia Thomas; aunt, Dorothy (Jack) Gallon; sisters-in-law, Deloris Marshall and Geneva Marshall; 27 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; a special sister, Ella Patrick; a loving friend, Sonora Crayton; devoted care-taker, Monicaher residence.
