Charles Lewis, Sr. was born in Albany, Georgia on August 6, 1957. He was the son of the late Roger Lewis, Sr. and Mamie Lou Ringwod Lewis.

He received his formal education in the public schools of Dougherty County where he was active in numerous school organizations and activities.

At an early age, Charles accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with the Zion Hope Baptist Church in Miami, Florida. He was a dedicated member of the Usher Board for many years. After relocating to Albany, he rededicated his life to Christ and joined the New True Fellowship Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Hosea Miller where he served faithfully until his demise.

Charles was a very independent person who gained much from his life's experiences. He cherished his family and friends and looked forward to the times spent with them. He will long be remembered as a deeply caring, compassionate, and appreciative person .

On Wednesday, January 3, 2018, Almighty God in His wise way removed Charles' soul from this earthly life at his residence. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Lewis, Jr.

His loving memories will forever remain in the hearts of his children, Tramella (Joyelle) Brown of Columbus, GA, and Vernorris (Shenickole) Brown, Charles (Noel) Lewis, Jr., Charte Lewis, Lakacia Lewis-Shree, and Latasha Lewis all of Albany, GA; four siblings, Joe Lewis, Miriam Lewis, and Barbara Lewis Thomas of Albany, GA, and Eloise Lewis of Raleigh, NC; ten grandchildren; a special friend, Genesis Cole; a dear buddy and friend, Snoop; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
