Charlie Will Daniels was born in Dawson, Terrell County, Georgia on September 10, 1959. He was the son of the late Liza Mae Holmes and Asbury Johnson.
He attended the public schools of Lee County and actively participated in numerous school functions and activities.
He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Gussie. Their union stood the test of time and they enjoyed many happy years together. Charlie was a devoted husband and father who worked tirelessly to provide for his family. For numerous years, he was employed as a plumber with Chelsea Company and later, with Carter Contractors. In his final years, he was most proud of being the owner and operator of Daniels and Son Plumbing Company. He was passionate about his work and stayed the course to ensure that no task was ever left undone.
Devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and loyal friend, Charlie was a very outgoing person who garnered much from his life experiences. He took advantage of every opportunity to spend time with his family and friends, and to savor the beauty of life. He had an engaging personality, a gigantic heart, a very welcoming spirit, and he enjoyed having fun. The strong bonds of friendship that he developed throughout his life will long be remembered and cherished.
On Tuesday, June 11, 2019, Charlie departed this earthly life and transitioned to his eternal home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death and reunited with his beloved wife, Gussie Daniels.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by his children, Chartavius James, Shalonda James, Dedra (Travis) Lockett, and Nekeysha James all of Albany, GA, and Cleveland Tinsley of Valdosta, GA; grandchildren, Masean, Alexis, Alphonso, Larry Travis, Matthew, Francisca, Cleveland, Jr., and Sariyah; two siblings, Minnie (Earl) Bryant of Smithville, GA and George Rivers of Leesburg, GA; brother-in-law, Greg Broner; sister-in-law, Gwen (Leon) Collins; three very special nieces, Sharica Cox and Lisa Melton of Albany, GA and Saundra Pittman of Warner Robins, GA; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
