Charlie Will Martin, Sr. was born in Terrell County, Georgia on December 29, 1951.  He was the beloved son of the late Bennie W. Martin and Trudy B. Saulsberry.

He received his formal education in the Terrell County School System.  Throughout his school years, Charlie was an enthusiastic, free spirited student who bravely trod to the beat of his own drum and was always ready for adventure.

Charlie had multiple career interest during his life.  He was a persistent, independent individual who worked untiringly for many years at Halley Farms, Reddy Ice, and with various landscaping and construction companies.  He was also a car enthusiast who took great pride in his mechanical abilities, loved working on anything with a motor, and was the "go-to" man for neighbors and friends who were in need of car repairs.

Loving father, nurturing grandfather, caring brother, awesome uncle, committed cousin, and loyal friend Charlie was a man with a big heart and outstretched hands.  He gave so much of himself and never expected anything in return.  Anyone who knew him would agree that he was extremely straightforward, unpretentious, and strong-willed; but he was also humble and generous.  Family and friends were paramount in his life and he loved spending quality time with them.  He will truly be missed by all who had the privilege of being a part of his life.

On February 19, 2025, Charlie transitioned from this earthly life at the Willson Hospice House. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three children, Brandon Lee Martin, Monica Jackson, and Monique Jackson; and four siblings, Leola Martin, Johnny Martin, Cortis Martin, and Mike Martin.

Loving memories will forever remain in the hearts of his children, Trudy Jackson, LaTausha Martin, Adam (Katrina) Martin, Loretta Martin, and Charlie Will (Ali'yah) Martin, Jr.; siblings, Ike Jackson, Paul (Lorene) Jackson, Silas (Carolyn) Jackson, Melvin (Coretta) Jackson, Mary Ann (Robert) Moore, Daisy Alexander, Shirley Thomas, and Nova (Wilbur) Born; grandchildren, Tomaro, Shenise, Cassander, Darion, Makhiya, Markeise, Ka'Jada, Al'Quiera, Adam Jr., Myeshia, Adammyia, Adrianna, Rashonda, Hannah, Darryen, Endeah, Carmen, Charlie III, Madyson, Matthew, Myles, and Malachi; great grandchildren, Kemana, Riniya, Rickey Jr., Riley, Caliyah, Donte, and Yoera; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
