Obituary

Charlotte Hodges Sanders was born in Albany, Georgia on January 6, 1946.  She was the beloved daughter of the late Auburn Hodges and Theresa Carter.

She was educated in the Dougherty County Public School System , graduating from Monroe High School.  Charlotte was a talented young lady who valued education and took advantage of every opportunity to learn and grow.  While at Monroe, she participated in various student organizations and activities which enabled her to enjoy  a diverse, well-rounded school experience.

At a very early age, she began her Christian journey with the Lord.  Throughout life, she remained steadfast and prayerful; was strong in faith; and was a shining example of humility and respect.

She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Otis Sanders.  Together, they embarked on a life filled with love and true devotion to each other.  Their union was blessed with two loving children, Carla and Daryl.   Charlotte was unwavering in her dedication to foster a home filled with love,  joy, and strong values.  Sharing time with family was paramount in her life and her diligence in caring for her husband and children was incomparable.

Charlotte was kind, generous individual who extended unconditional love to everyone with her endless sacrifice.  She believed strongly in helping others and creating lasting memories.  Family and friends were paramount in her life and she enjoyed spending quality time with them.   Charlotte enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—cooking, puzzles, listening to music, and the beauty of nature.  She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of being a part of her life.

On November 23, 2020, Charlotte was called home to eternal peace and rest.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Otis Sanders; and two siblings, Myra H. Banks and Evelyn "Faye" Banks.

Cherished memories will forever remain with her children, Carla Sanders and Daryl (Pamela) Sanders; six siblings, Cynthia (Tim) Hickenbotham, Gary Hodges, Audrey (Donnie) Mimbs, Auburn (Kim) Hodges, Jr., LaTangila (Deverd) Bellamy, and Doris  "Von" Hodges; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and a myriad of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
