IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christine S.
Mcfarland
July 16, 1965 – March 27, 2024
Christine Serita McFarland was born in Albany, Georgia on July 16, 1965. She was the beloved daughter of the late Johnny McFarland, Sr. and the late Bernice McFarland.
She was educated in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Westover High School in 1983. Throughout her school years, Christine was a perceptive and astute young lady who garnered much from her educational experiences and co-curricular activities.
Christine always had a love for children and was blessed to have had a profound professional career that spanned more than 30 years. As a daycare/nursery school teacher, she was relentless in guiding and inspiring toddlers at My Second Home Daycare. She was a caring teacher who set high standards for her students and made them feel loved. Her career was marked by the highest level of excellence; and as a result, she received numerous accolades as she shaped the lives of many boys and girls.
Known to many as a kind and generous lady with a big heart, Christine opened the umbrella of her love and affection in countless ways. She had a nurturing spirit, was always willing to share her experiences with others, would lend a listening ear to those in need of compassion and support, and graciously opened her heart and home to family and friends. She had a servants heart and always stood ready to lend a helping hand—never asking anything in return. Christine was full of energy, stayed on the move, and was well organized; everything had its place! She will be greatly missed for her uncanny sense to know just when encouragement is needed; her caring spirit; and her steadfastness as a daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend.
On March 27, 2024, the season of her earthly life ended and she entered into eternal rest. In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by her three brothers, Dennis McFarland, Jack McFarland, and Gregory McFarland; her nephew, Jahmaal St. Paul; and her aunts and uncle, Elois Davis, Vivian Malbury, and Bobby Davis.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by her father, Johnny McFarland, Sr.; her children, Deanna McFarland and Gregory Washington; grandchildren, Gregory Baynard, KayLonni Washington, and Gunnia Washington; siblings, Amos McFarland, Elvis McFarland, and Johnny McFarland, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Mekaela Dungee; sisters-in-law, Patricia McFarland, Linda McFarland, and Gloria McFarland; nieces and nephews, Janyia McFarland, Porsha McFarland, Aciel McFarland, Audranna Hayes, Diamont McFarland, and Johnny McFarland III; aunts, Deborah Johnson and Carolyn McNeal; goddaughters, Kristian Lindsey and Jalisha Johnson; friends/sisters, Sonia Hayes and Loretha Walters; best friend/brother, Quintus Hayes; and a host of cousins and friends.
