IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Clarence Jones,
Jr.
December 3, 1937 – January 5, 2024
Clarence Ross, son of the late Mitchell Ross and Clara Mae Hillman, was born in Butler, Georgia on December 3, 1936.
He received his formal education in the Taylor County School System where he gained valuable life skills.
Very early in life, Clarence accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. In 1999, he united with Israel's Temple Worldwide Inc. under the leadership of Apostle Jimmy Gardner and Dr. Gladys Gardner. He dearly loved the Lord and remained humble and prayerful in his daily walk.
Clarence was a very persistent individual who relied on his hands-on skills to provide services as a handyman for numerous clients. His work ethic and meticulous approach earned him a reputation that brought a steady stream of customers—all by word of mouth. Over the years, Clarence was dedicated to pleasing people with his work and striving to be the best at whatever task he faced.
Known in his young adult life as a man who enjoyed life to the fullest and loved to have fun; Clarence matured as he aged and became a man of peace, a caring friend and neighbor, a man who had a big heart for all things in life, a man who greatly impacted the lives of everyone around him. Blessed beyond measure "Daddy and Pop," as he was endearing called, reached the hallowed age of 87; lived to see generations of his off-springs whose feet he set on the path of life; and left an enduring legacy of kindness, laughter, generosity, and dedication that he shared with family and friends.
On January 5, 2024, Almighty God called Clarence home to eternal rest. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Reatha Mae Day Ross and Pearlie Mae Webb Ross; his daughters, Rozie Ross and Debra Ann Ross; siblings, Clinton Russell, Aldean Ross, James T. Ross, Willie Mae Ross, Lizzie R. Ross, Elois Shaw, Ella M. Ross, and Clara J. Jones; stepchildren, James Williams and Rosa Park; and step-grandchildren, Santianna Williams and Nigel Brown.
Precious memories will forever remain in the hearts of his children, Angela Sheppard of Lake City, FL, Cassie Ross of Seattle, WA, Stephone (Lisa) Ross of Old Town, ME, and Diane Ross, Clancy Mae Ross, Selena (Nathaniel) Nelson, Clarence (Alberta) Ross, Apostle Alfonso (Gloria) Ross, and Tony Ross all of Live Oak, FL; stepson, Lawrence Williams; 54 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 4 step-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
