Clenton James Dukes was born in Mitchell County, Georgia on July 31, 1955. He was the son of the late Obadiah Dukes and Gladys Dukes.
He received his formal education in the Mitchell County School System, graduating from Mitchell County High in 1973.
He was united in holy matrimony to his beloved Patricia Mitchell and they shared 33 memorable years together.
Clenton was ambitious in all that he did. As a young man, he was deeply rooted in the soil and developed a deep passion for farming that endured throughout his lifetime. No matter what the task, he looked upon each of them with equal importance and ensured that nothing was left undone.
"Huchess" as he was affectionately called, was a straight-forward, hardworking man who was generous and kind. He was a friend you could depend on and he was always ready to help in any way that he could. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
On June 25, 2018, Clenton's earthly journey ended and he transitioned to eternal rest. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Dukes; and his stepson, Corey Mitchell.
He leaves to cherish his memories a very loving and devoted wife, Patricia Mitchell Dukes; two daughters, Latasha Clark (Bratin) and Erica Dukes Johnson; two sons, Jamie Edwards (Shebrekia) and Eric Dukes (Lakina); siblings, Obadiah Dukes and Cynthia Dukes White (David); sisters-in-law, Donna Dukes, Kwajalein Guest (Emmitt), and Konya Anderson (Eugene); 17 grandchildren, Katherine Gilyard, Khalil Williams, Kyla Williams, Charity Clark, Amauri Dukes, Kaitlyn Edwards, Morgan Clark, Kenydi Collier, Joshua Clark, Kristina Edwards, Jeremiah Clark, Amerral Dukes, Lance Dukes, Jamie Edwards, Jr., Shiloh Clark, Khadien Johnson, and Adien Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
