A Time to Be Born: Collier "Bookie" Dawson was born in Albany, Georgia on November 6, 1965. He was the beloved son of Maggie Green Dawson and the late Reverend Calvin Dawson, Sr.
A Time to Learn: He received his early childhood and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System. While in school, he acquired multiple technical and industrial skills that steered his attention toward the construction industry.
A Time to Plant: In 1986, Collier committed his life to Christ and was baptized by his former mother-in-law, Pastor Florine W. Thomas, PhD. He lived a righteous life, doing all he could to assist Pastor Thomas and the Promise Land Apostolic Church family.
Collier was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Yalanda Williams, in 1986. Their union was blessed with a loving daughter, Colliereeneka DeYonne Dawson Brown.
A Time to Build: A highly skilled and talented carpenter and brick mason, Collier began his professional career in building construction in 1987. Over the years, he honed a distinctive style of construction artistry that was readily recognized throughout Southwest Georgia. He thought outside of the box and worked diligently to ensure that his work was flawless.
Devoted son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, Collier was a loving, carefree, generous, and kind-hearted individual who believed strongly in unconditional love.
A Time to Die : On Saturday, April 29, 2023, Carter departed this earthly life. In addition to father, he was predeceased by his beloved brother, Curtis Dawson.
A Time to Cherish: Fond memories will forever be cherished by his mother, Maggie Green Dawson; his daughter, Colliereeneka Deyonne (Reginald) Brown; granddaughter, Yalandria Elesia Dawson; siblings, Elder Calvin (Pearlie) Dawson, Jr., Christa (Antonio) Martin, Carolyn (Lester) Sanders, Claudia Dawson, Charlotte (Kenneth) Edwards, Coretta (Melvin) Jackson, Carl Dawson, Cassandra Moye, and Cynthia (Randy) Downie; special nephew, Corey Range; close friend, M. C. Ellis; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends;
